The charity’s mission includes teaching valuable CPR and first aid skills, and ensuring communities have access to defibrillators and are trained in how to use them. Calon Hearts also provides free heart screenings for people aged between 16 and 25 to detect life-threatening heart conditions that often go undetected.
The firm’s dedication to the cause is deeply personal, following the tragic loss of colleague Rob Harding. Rob’s colleagues have been passionate about honouring his memory by organising and participating in a range of fundraising activities throughout the year
The fundraising journey began last October when 20 members of the team ran the Cardiff Half Marathon, pounding the streets of Cardiff and demonstrating their commitment to making a difference.
December brought festive fun with a Christmas Jumper Day. The team wore their best Christmas jumpers and each donated £1, spreading cheer while supporting the cause.
In February, the firm entered the Business Fives football tournament in Cardiff. The team including James Davies, Dafydd Ford, Thomas Furnell-Regan, Ryan Jeffs, Arin Ozgul, Josh Raisis, James Travers and Zak Wright showed off their skills, competing with energy and enthusiasm.
March saw the team don their aprons and grab their whisks as the office hosted a charity cake sale. From delicious cakes to traybakes and brownies, employees donated generously and enjoyed a well-earned treat.
Following a practice hike up Pen y Fan, April saw the team showing their commitment to supporting heart health across Wales by completing the challenging 16-mile Taith Twmbarlwm walk.
To date, Kilsby Williams has raised over £3,000 for Calon Hearts. You can still donate and support the team’s fundraising efforts via their JustGiving page.
