Based in Sully, Vale of Glamorgan, Tŷ Hafan supports families faced with the unimaginable reality that their child’s life will be short, providing compassion and specialist care so that children with life-shortening conditions can live fulfilling lives.
Tŷ Hafan provides vital services to manage children’s care and support families, helping close to 1200 families since opening its doors in 1999. The charity offers end-of-life care, symptom management, emergency respite stays, and therapy and sensory play for children, while supporting families through practical support and advocacy, a listening ear, and bereavement support.
To begin their fundraising efforts, a team of 17 from Kilsby Williams ran the Cardiff Half Marathon in October, raising £1,380.
The firm has also gotten into the Christmas spirit, selling a range of charity Christmas cards to help support Tŷ Hafan in their mission to support families in Wales.
Jonathan Harrhy, partner at Kilsby Williams said: “We are proud to support Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice for the next year, showcasing this amazing charity’s work and raising funds to help support their vital work. No family should be forced to face the challenge of a life-shortening condition alone, and we hope our support can help Tŷ Hafan reach even more families.
“We have already begun our fundraising with the Cardiff Half Marathon and Christmas card sales. Every step our team has taken has been to raise awareness and support Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice as much as possible. We’re looking forward to announcing more exciting fundraising events soon!”
